The education committee has been working on more ways to reach out to the community’s children. The committee members are building on the spring Gardening Days, Fire Prevention Week activities, and looking at new venues and educational opportunities.
For fire prevention education, the education committee has been working with the Big Bear Hotshots to set up an assembly to take place at the middle school in October. A date has been set, and the Hotshots are scheduling with middle school personnel.
Committee members are creating certificates in folders to be presented to the Scouts who planted and have been maintaining beds at the community garden.
Because of the school Gardening days, the committee members were invited to attend the Cole Vocational Services Talent Show at the Discovery Center in September. Several Garden Club members attended, and they were treated to a joyful and fun show. Check out the photos below from the Talent Show!
